MORE THAN MISC THE EYE

In this highly Miscellaneous section, I've decided to stick in some other various cool sound clips that I hope aren't at all related to CastleVania, Konami, or any aim of this site. Macintosh users, get the current Quicktime thingy; it's able to run WAVs!

Download, sit back, relax, chill. Unless specified, these were all recorded by me for your coastin' enjoyment. Industry guys, contact me to remove official stuff.

Nanah Rhymes- Very cool, when Al B Pri said Nanako sounded like Bustah Rhymes in this scene of my recent anime buy, Amazing Nurse Nanako, in which she arrives late on the scene with a bag of lunch stuff and proceeds to collide with the floor. After being pummeled by her once-airborne groceries, out comes a Japanese string of "owies".
18.9 second, 207kb WAV. 1-UP!!! Same scene, no commentary: 12 second, 142kb WAV.

Styles- One of rap's numerous, yet well-hidden, lessons of the obvious. "Blood thicker than water? Only in certain cases. You need water to live; you learn that in the basics." says Styles P from one of my frequented CDs of the time, The L.O.X.'s We Are the Streets.
5 second, 61kb WAV.

Pokin' Around: Red- I picked this one up during a run of a cassette. In the middle of my Mega Man X4 game, Jason just brings up the subject of Pokeymon, and I set to tear it down. Described, some 'Myu' add-on for a game and a code central now owned by mainstream industry bull-duram, IGN; it was first known as SegaSages.
48 second, 520kb WAV.

Pokin' Around: Blue- As I trash Spirit Mushroom, Jason reveals one of Nintendo's screwups. (Slash Beastleo, ranking high on Jason's THE MAN list, comes up to the end in the background) The whole Plokeymon franchise is dismissed sweetly at 00:58 in this 59 second, 640kb WAV.

Dateman X- Date simulations have been a staple in the Japanese videogame as long as anyone who knows the deal can remember. They publish about 125 of those brilliantly-colored jammys every month. Jason wonders about a Mega Man X dating game...
50 second, 542kb WAV.

Dateman X2- As Jason delves dangerously deeper into Mega Man's fractured love life, I use every last ounce of Needle Cannon to shut him up.
12 second, 138kb WAV.

The Lovely Miss Swan- She's American. She's a blond. She's one of the show's two bridge bunnies. She spits out mind-bogglingly cute English-sounding phrases! She's none other than Brave King Gaogaigar's Swan White! And when the Prez of Japan orders the deployment of the risky Dividing Driver for our mega-mecha hero, she can't help but adorably cry out her shock in her native tongue!
4 second, 49kb WAV.

Home Sweet Home- Lord Have Mercy's growly, down-and-grimy, edited slightly, verse from his guest appearance on the track "Home Sweet Home" off M.O.P.'s Warriorz album. When you're done with that Limb Bizzkids and Korny stuff, check out Mash Out Posse.
1 minute, 22 second, BROOKLYN!, 901kb WAV.

Reunited- Wu-Tang certainly has to be one the most intellectual and influential rap groups of all time for a number of reasons; The RZA's just one. Here's his "80-proof Absolute mixed with cranberry fruit juice" baffler from "Reunited", on the Wu Tang Forever double CD. I like his accent and how he just seems to spit up genius rhymes, while at the same time controlling every nuance of the background beat!

ayb2.swf- The Flash Movie that introduced me to my favorite phenomenon. In the vast reaches of space, a tinny explosion marks the launch of a million more Photoshops...
Amidst the chaos on the bridge of a doomed spaceship, CATS, a villain who reminds me a bit of Spacorn from The Five Star Stories, materializes to deliver the ship's last rites:
"HOW ARE YOU GENTLEMEN. ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US. YOU ARE ON THE WAY TO DESTRUCTION."
The Captain is striken with disbelief. CATS' final words ring through his mind:
"YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO SURVIVE MAKE YOUR TIME. HA-HA-HA."
Enter the infectious thump of "Invasion of the Gabber Robots" by The Laziest Men on Mars, followed by countless images warped into the villain's decree...
Zero Wing wasn't ever a particularly amazing shooter, but when it came home from the arcades, Toaplan decided to garnish the game with an introduction replete with screwed dialogue. Zany Video Game Quotes was all over it; some say ALL YOUR BASE fever took off from the place in the latter part of the year 2000. It wasn't until the following March that I'd catch the bug, but once I did, I was not only endlessly amused, I was damn proud; the whole world was sharing in the oddballedness of the games we love to play. It was kinda like how computers used to be "just for nerds"; after Windows 95 changed up the game, we all became nerds.
While the rest of the network had gotten over it pretty quickly, I'd show no such relent; ParoVadius and its tributaries are direct descendants of ALL YOUR BASE madness!

All Your BASS are Belong to Us- While the rest of the world was loving the stuffing out of the movie's original score, I dug the groove of "All Your BASS are Belong to Us"! Diffusion and Mr. Dog (bless their souls) put together this pretty sweet mix during the heyday of AYB fever. It's been eight years since, so I'm not sure if I should thank Nab'ster or the Official AYB Movie Page for the discovery. In either case, one thing's for clear: with an alternative style and overall sweetness, "All Your BASS" earned more than its place in the MixCD of the time; it has remained a four-star fave ever since.

16-Bit Commercial- Journey back to the year 1992 and the Puerto Rican countryside of Yabucoa as Frankie and I freestyle our own videogame commercial, loaded with rockin' guitar riffs and EXTREEEEME ATTITUDE!!! More info in the ID3.

Jason Stern: Poor Cat- Reading off the adverts for this commercial moment, Jason Stern notices a picture of a cat wearing what appears to be a satellite dish around its neck...
