Berrigan, the ONLY Slim Sloggy

''By now, you KNOW who the man is...''

I've been writing verses since 1992, in Ms. Mun's 6th grade music class at Saint Nicholas of Tolentine, but I began writing parody raps a while after I read this terrible Evangelion songfic called "My Name Is...Slim Shinji," a parody of Eminem's "My name is...Slim Shady". Eminem's track had been brutalized by clunky verse and sloppy use of Eva references. Written by SOME Eva fan on AOL, I got wind of it after DCTP Site Advisor Andy forwarded it to me during my 1999 Puerto Rico vacation.

Later that season, I got a hold of and borrowed Eminem's Slim Shady LP from the library and went through it several times, reviving old rhyme techniques as Slim spat out his darkly comical bars. I also tested "Slim Shinji" on the original rap, but that proved to be a spectacular failure. Slipping (not that this was MY fault) on verses was easier than choking on a charcoal sandwich. I was finally ready to try my hand at rap parodies after the Eminem study.

The parodies would feature CastleVania elements and would be tailored exclusively for the WorldWide CastleVaniac (or later Konami/video game) demographic. Since there was only one CV beast capable of carrying out these lyrical orders while maintaining a grand aura of underground, little-known coolness, SLOGRA was the one to sound the war on Teen Pop Culture beginning with "My name is...Slim Sloggy," known early on as "Slim Slogra" or "Slam Slogra". A year after the first Slim Sloggy song, "The REAL Slim Sloggy" was written and debuted, and various changes were made to the "My Name is...Slim Sloggy" original, known now and available as, "My Name is...Slim Sloggy (Version 2000)".

The first collection of parody lyrics. Unlinked titles are either lone titles, or don't have enough lyrics written in them to yet warrant a post. This collection was primarily known as "The Slim Slogra LP".
